I recently joined a Stampin' Up! stamping club and I've really enjoyed it. Not only is it a mini-girls night out, it's also a great way for me to learn new techniques and stamping. Here's what we did at Sally's this weekend:
Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly
Coloring: Stampin' Pastels
I love the butterfly set, it's on my wish list. Our next project - a yummy cake box!
Our last project was this sweet layout, to which I added my daughter's picture and stuck in my Smash Book (which is the reason for the odd look to the picture):
I LOVE my Smash Book! But that's another post! :D
Sally had an Open House on Sunday so I stopped by to check it out and came away with another beautiful card and sweet layout:
Stamps: Pennant Parade
Punch: Petite Pennant Builder Punch
I LOVE this layout - we made it using a new stamp set and punch set, both of which I ordered Friday night. I'm creating the decorations and invitations for my sister-in-law's bridal shower and I think they'll be perfect! I added the Making Memories glitz letters; this one isn't going in my Smash Book, I'm going to frame it for my desk at work. :D Our next project was a gorgeous card, using a great new (to me) embossing technique:
I inked one side of the embossing folder with VersaMark watermark ink pad (using a brayer), added the paper and put it through the Big Shot. Once embossed I covered it with Melon Mambo embossing powder, tapped the excess off, zapped it with the heat gun and ta da! So pretty! On the inside of the card I actually used bleach:
I really like this, and Sally showed me some other examples of using bleach on different colored cardstock; I can't wait to try it myself. I was a bit worried that it would eat right through the paper, but I really didn't use that much. :)
Thanks for stopping by, and have a blessed day!
