Target Dollar Store Wreath = Sparkly Rosette Wreath

Happy holidays, and I am so sorry for not updating in such a long time!  To be quite honest I will be very happy when 2011 is finally over; it's been a roller coaster year and I'm ready to get off the ride.  I have been doing some scrappy stuff, and I recently created this wreath that I'm pretty proud of.  I love making rosettes and Tim Holtz has two pretty nifty rosette dies (plus a really easy rosette creating technique) that make creating pretty rosettes extremely simple. And if you use some beautiful sparkly glitter paper you really can't go wrong.

There were center rhinestones, but I took them off.  Trust me, they didn't add anything.  ;)

Ready for the after?  I used the two Tim Holtz rosette dies, my Martha Stewart scoring board, two Martha Stewart border punches, American Crafts POW! glitter paper, Bazzill Bling paper, Doodlebug Designs winter paper, and rhinestones, snowflake buttons, embellishments and stickers from Michael's.  Please forgive my terrible photography:

I wish I could show you the incredible sparkle this paper has.  It's a little bit thicker than normal paper, so I finally started going over the die cuts with an Xacto knife afterward, and OMG - be prepared to replace your cutting pads pretty quickly as well (although I suspect I may have gotten a somewhat defective die); mine are trashed after this.  This big silver rosette was one that I made with a MS border punch and scoring board; I wanted a little bigger rosette and these turned out beautifully.  If you use the dies you don't have to use two strips for your rosette, but for a bigger rosette you should use two strips or it's very hard to "pop" it down onto your glue.
