It's Almost Valentine's Day! :)

Okay, this year is just flying by - it's almost Valentine's Day and we have been SO busy!  I know that's contributing to how fast time is passing, but sheesh, there are days when I don't feel like I've got time to breathe.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year; we certainly are and despite being so busy I've had time to scrapbook and craft - actually, the crafting has contributed to the behind-the-eight-ball feeling.  :)

So, the first thing that happened this year is that my husband and his twin sister turned 40.  We celebrated at Gordon Biersch in Dallas, and there was cake:

I created the birthday banner (it says "Over the Hill", hee) using my Stampin' Up! Petite Pennants builder punch, and the rosettes were cut with the Ribbons & Rosettes Cricut cartridge.  The paper is American Crafts POW! glitter paper, and some Die Cuts with a View Glitzy Glitter paper.  Love those new DCWV stacks!

And there were cupcakes - four dozen of them!  :)  I went a bit overboard, but we were expecting a lot of people and I did get a pretty good deal on the cake and cupcakes.  Besides, you can never have too many cupcakes, right?  ;)
The cupcake rosettes are cut with my Tim Holtz rosette die (large), and I put a strip of his tissue tape over them as well, to help keep them together and to add a cool touch: both of them are very much into music (Steve is a drummer when not being an awesome dad and project engineer; Shelley plays trumpet and is one of the biggest Beatles fans I've ever met), so I used Tim's Symphony tape on them.  I punched the center medallions with a 3/4" circle punch, and created the "40" on my Gypsy; the little flame is also a Cricut cut, from the Ribbons & Rosettes cartridge.  Let me tell you, they looked awesome all put together!  :)

I've done several layouts for Tessa's albums, and also finished my new Valentine's bouquet:

This is another Plain n' Simple chipboard flower bouquet from Doodlebug Designs, decorated using their new Sweet Cakes collection, Martha Stewart glitter and various embellishments.  Please pardon our washing machine, it was the best light available for pictures!

I love how it turned out, and it looks pretty on my desk at work.  I love this detail:

I love Doodlebug's Doodle Pops, they are just so cute.  The ribbon is a Target Dollar Spot find from last year.

One more:

This is one of the cardstock stickers from the collection, popped up on a Pop-Dot.  :)

One last little project - adding colored monthly tabs to my nifty new planner.  These are cut with Tim Holtz's file tabs die in my Big Shot:

Of course - Die Cuts with a View Glitzy Glitter papers, and American Crafts POW! glitter papers.  This is a work in progress, but they look so pretty I had to share.

Thank you for stopping by, and I promise I won't be so long between updates.  Life just gets in the way, but isn't it supposed to?  :)  Have a blessed day!
